FINANCIAL RESOURCES:

If anyone is in need of food, the St. Louis Area Foodbank has set up a page to help: https://stlfoodbank.org. You can search to find a food pantry near you, larger distribution events in your area and for those who might be losing income, how to get help applying for SNAP (Food Stamps).

If people are able and want to help by donating food or funds, there is an area for that as well.

If anyone needs assistance adjusting their budget to get through these uncertain times, please feel free to call 618-229-7556 in Military and Family Readiness.  The Military OneSource (1-800-342-9647) is also an option.

Tips to remember:

  • Develop a budget and stick to it
  • Find a way to cut back on expenses.  For example, you may want to temporarily suspend cable, subscriptions and memberships, buy generic,  make your lunches instead of picking up to-go orders, purchase only essentials
  • Avoid pay day loans, title pawn loans, etc.  These are high interest loans that will difficult to pay back.
  • Investigate your state’s unemployment eligibility, if needed.
  • Be mindful of other local/state resources in your area.
  • Do not be afraid to ask for help!
